About Folly FieldTurn onto Folly Field Road beside the new Carrabba's Italian Grill on William Hilton Parkway, between Palmetto Dunes Plantation and Port Royal Plantation, and you will pass flower-named streets that could belong to any middle-class town in America. This is Folly Field, one of the first neighborhoods to be developed within Hilton Head real estate. This community has a variety of homes from older quaint beach cottages to newer luxurious beachfront mansions. Centrally located between Port Royal Plantation and Palmetto Dunes, Folly Field is minutes away from all of Hilton Head destinations, shopping and dining.
Villa complexes and more single-family houses line Folly Field Road all the way to the beach. The first beach cottages were built on Folly Field beach in 1953 to entice more vacationers and residents to visit Hilton Head Island. It worked and the bridge was built for better access to Hilton Head, SC. Now many of these older custom designed homes are been remodeled and updated, creating luxurious homes with unique character to fill the Folly Field locality of Hilton Head real estate.
Folly Field Beach has public beach access with restrooms, vending machines and a lifeguard on duty. One street over is Islander’s Beach Club, a beach access specifically for local Hilton Head and Folly Beach real estate owners that purchase annual beach permits. There is a boardwalk to the beach, a playground, restrooms and picnic area. Located right off of highway 278, Folly Field on Hilton Head Island is so close to upscale shopping and numerous dining options.
Right around the corner from Folly Field is Driessen Park Beach, complete with restrooms, vending machines, a playground, and a picnic area with grills.
